Help - can't get sofas out of front door

I do have patio doors, but there is no access to the back of my house as I have a walled garden - the wall is about 10 feet high with a car yard at the back (I could get access to the car yard but I don't know how the sofas would get over the wall).
I didn't measure the sofas as I thouht they were roughly the same size as my old ones - I've had five sofas in and out before, all pretty big, although I used to have an ordinary wooden door which wasn't as thick.
There is a window but I assumed removing it would be quite difficult and expensive?
FIVE SOFAS!!!! I have only ever had 3 sofas, and have had own home for 39 years!!0 -

Similar here, just gave my last one to local charity, it was 19 years old and still in a presentable condition.
Fortunately I have 8 foot patio doors straight in to my living room.0 -
We had a problem when our new sofas where delivered!!!
We could get the old ones out but not the new ones in:o
We took the glass out of the large living room window, but it did help that ds was a window fitter!!!;)
Do you know anyone who could help?? He only took the rubber seals off and removed the pane of glass, and the sofas went through easily, good luck, hope you get it sorted.;)A freebie a day sends a smile my way!

DH used to deliver sofas, some sofas would come apart, so they could easily carry them in.
DH and his drivers mate would deliver sofas over a high wall, although some teams would refuse to. Some of the people worked with would be happy to take doors off and pop windows out, although they where'nt supposed to as any damage would'nt be covered by the company.
Is the company able to send some over at an hours notice? I only ask because quite often they would have to phone the buyer an hour before they where about to arrive, so the buyer could phone someone to come over to pop the window out.0 -

A couple of them were lent to us and then taken away again, one was an old one I had when we moved in which we later gave away, and two are the ones we have now.
I don't think removing the window is an option as the frame goes across the middle and I don't think it's going to be wide enough.
My only hope is that the delivery men are so skilled they can get them in the door even when we couldn't get ours out, or that the sofas come apart and can be re-assembled.
I have patio doors at the back but my garden is walled - at the rear it's 10 foot high and backs onto a used car yard.
Otherwise I face paying £970 for something I can't use.0 -
give the delivery men 20/50 quid and they will get them over the back wall with no problem.
esp if you can get a few extra hands to help em.Get some gorm.0 -
Well - they came, took the door off and still couldn't get them in! However, they measured the window and think they will go in easily if the glass is removed, so I just need to get a glazier to sort that out.
I'm quite relieved, but I am going on holiday next week so it will have to wait until I come back.0
