3 mobile - help needed

About 8 weeks ago I received a telephone call on my 3 mobile phone from 3’s upgrade team. They offered me a new telephone with the possibility of a different contract. I was not willing to upgrade at that time without seeing the new phone I would receive and so I asked to be called back about 10 minutes later. I then went onto the 3 mobile web site and looked at price plans and telephones, and duly received a second call from the operator. I noted at this time that the mix and match 1100 tariff was on a special offer of £20 per month, and considered it to be a more flexible contract for my daughters use (my contract as she's U18).
The operator asked me if I had a chance to look at telephones, which I informed him that I had and I liked the Nokia 6500. I then asked if this was available as an upgrade, and with a change of contract to the mix and match 1100 for £20 per month. He stated that it would.
Several times during the conversation I asked him to confirm that the new contract I was upgrading to would only cost me £2.50 more than my current contract was (£17.50), which He confirmed, several times.
A few days later the telephone arrived and a few weeks later the amount of free minutes changed, as per the mix and match 1100 tariff. When my telephone bill arrived though 4 weeks ago, I was shocked to see that I was being charged £27.25 per month for this tariff, not £20 as I had been advised.
I have sent them a letter explaining this and was told I would get a call from the sales team. This has not happened and I'm still on £27.25 a month contract.

does anyone have an e-mail address for an exec from 3 mobile or should I just go straight to ofcom / trading standards or what ?

Neil

You wouldnt believe the trouble my boyfriend has been havin gwith 3 mobile for around 5 months. He's even got trading standards on his side as via a similar phonecall to what you mentioned they upgraded his phone and changed his package only to change the terms and conditions(and price) shortly afterwards with a new contract. He refused to sign the contract sent the phone back to 3 and they are still sending debt collectors round to his house. They reckon he will owe them £800 odd pounds by the end of the 18 month contract(the one he's never signed for or used). The stress it has caused him and phonecalls has been terrible for him.

In addition i would say contact your local trading standards as soon as possible as they are apparently very used to delaing with 3. They even have some kind of direct line through! Either that or you give up and pay the extra i think.
