Well after spending over 3/4s of budget and just a week ago thinking we would go WAYYYY over budget I think we might actually do it. I did my usual weekly shopping list (which would normally cost at least £50) and there are only 4 things on the list!!!
I can't believe it. I have also got a brilliant recipie for Golden ginderbread which I love and will post that later.
hope everyone has a nice day

Hi all
Big catch up from me, haven't posted for a while but have been keeping up with posts (have to say am finding it easier now there are less posts).
Had a lovely weekend away, treated ourselves to coffee and cakes at Costa (7.10) and lunch at pret a manger (11.70), it did feel like a real treat and not that bad for the 5 of us (we are good at sharing cakes etc) good to know we can do it on our gc!
Then off to Mr T for big shop (again decided wasn't worth an online shop- I MUST not do it again) on budget for gc- had a list and pretty much kept to it but spent £17 on clothes, £6 on gifts and £6 on sporting stuff.
Am considering upping my gc budget and then including all of these things next month, for now am keeping a track of them and will add it up end of Sept.
Should be just about OK for gc, one big shop left to do and it's a smallish one -iykwim!!
Take care everyone

:j I'VE DONE IT! :j I'VE DONE IT! :j I'VE DONE IT!:j
Did my final shop yesterday for this month as we're off on hols on Sat.....
Thought I had gone over budget (£130) by £2.24, but strangely enough, that was the EXACT PRICE of the cake-tin I bought, which really shouldn't come out of my 'food & cleaning' budget.....so I'll pay for that with my own spending money.
So I've spent EXACTLY £130 !!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry to be so excited but I bet I'll never manage it again - to the exact penny - without even working it out beforehand to that much detail!
An even bigger plus is that I've managed to include lot of pasta, rice & a couple bags of flour (all on offer) for my storecupboard, and 10 packets of flavoured savoury rice (I've discovered does great 'rissotto's' in the SC!) which were on offer in Mr A's at 5 for a £1. These aren't even included in my meal-plan to the end of the month, so are 'bonuses' to start next month's planning with.
Hope you all have a good month. Probably won't be posting again until after my hols, so 'see' you all again on 30th Sept.

Just to clarify, everyone, I'm taking over angelnikki's brilliant recipe list (see post 3 on this thread) from the October Challenge. I'll try to do as good a job as she's done :T
Pink, please feel free to delete this post at some point... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

MrM has fresh lamb on offer, along with [fresh] gammon shanks @ £1:49 each.
Yesturday, I washed off my potato peelings & put them on a baking tray to dry. Then while the oven was on for dinner, I sprayed them lightly with oil & sprinkled with salt. About 10mins later I had something not unlike a leading brand of 'adult' crisps...figured you could add whatever flavourings you fancy--chilli, curry, etc
