Going from orange payg to contract

I currently have a payg phone and which to switch to contract soon

The phone I have has a sim in it from a previous phone which someone bought for me

So the sim is registered in their name as they gave their details when buying it

Is it possible for me to change the details? I know the pass and pin number they gave and their full name and address - or do they have to do it?

Do Orange offer any 12-month contracts?

If I take an 18-month contract can I upgrade my phone after say 9 months?

thanks in advance

edit: also I have just moved to a new area and am not on electoral roll etc. will this be a problem as part of the credit check?

I'm fairly certain to tcvhange the details - I'd do that first whilst its still PAYG

I'm not sure what Orange do as their credit check, but electoral roll is a fairly common one.

If the credit check can't find you its an automatic fail...
