    Hi All
Just received my credit files from all 3 agencies.
Call credit showing 1 default 2004 nothing more
Equifax showing 2 clear accounts with loads of green zeros which are my bank account and BT. Show 3 defaults 2004-2005 one of which is same as call credit but differing in amounts by 1pound. One registered by finance company other showing Aktiv capital.
Only visible search on Equifax is Natwest for my current account.
Also shows 'hidden searches' only visible to me not lenders from debt collectors on numerous occasions, sometimes 3twice a day.
Looking for best way to improve my rating both with my own bank and indeed generally.
Have two fully paid up Provident accounts but was saddened to learn that they are not shown despite the HIGH interest rate

Your BT phone bill is showing on your Equifax report??

    Assume its BT
    Just says communications company.
Don't have contract mobile so other than BT could possibly be SKY TV or AOL Broadband??
Whoever it is shows lots of green zero's

Just applied and been accepted for Simply Be account, small limit at £125 but VERY HAPPY indeed as it's a good start.
Run this well, gather up some more green zero's and it must work in my favour as regards improving my overall credit score.
So glad I found this forum

I pay by direct debit, 'whole bill' monthly.
All it says on credit file is communications company.

NatWest it seems are a law into themselves - like you Brian I had a Step account which they made an unholy mess of (25 separate complaints, numerous refunds due to bank error - all noted on account) then they wouldnt let me have a Servicecard either, so I shifted my account to A&L who gave me a Visa Debit, then NatWest threw their toys out of the pram when I told them I was moving.....
Oh and I have a Simply Be account too.... if you buy lots and make regular payments they will keep upping your limit.... I started on £100, then they upped to £200, its now at £400... it all helps!

A&L have been pretty good with me, I have a Premier account with Visa Debit, no cheque guarantee card or overdraft though.... be careful with thier card though. It looks like a Visa Debit and most places read it as a Visa Debit but some places wont take it due to the chip being programmed as a Visa Electron.... I have a greivance lodged and I am revving up to take it further as misselling of account and misinformation of customers.... and even one of their members of staff said the account wasnt half as good as it used to be...!!!
Natwest got all childish and said 'Well you do know you cant pay your bills over the counter there? So how will you pay them?' I blew that out of the water by saying the household bills all come out of my partner's account anyway and I pay everything else by debit card! I just said I was fed up of their constant mistakes....
