Hi
Quick question. My dd wants me to get her some stuff to stop her biting her nails. Can anyone tell me the name of one/the best stuff to get her?
Quick one before I go then.......since I used to bite my nails so bad when I was little my dad would tell me my fingers looked like sausages! :rotfl:
I found nothing worked as I was quite a committed chewer. However, I'm sure someone can recommend a product to try.
What actually stopped me biting them was an old boyfriend. He bought me a manicure and I was so embarrassed at the tiny stubs they had to paint (with a mere dab of clear polish! :rotfl: ) Then, since my boyfriend had paid for them to be done (at least the cuticles had been tidied) I felt that I couldn't bite them - for about a week but that led to 2 and suddenly had the beginnings of some nails.......Just a thought - in case the disgusting nail stuff doesn't work!
Nite-nite!"Buy me, Lady", said the frock, "and I will make you into a BEAUTIFUL & WHOLE & COMPLETE human being"."Do not be silly", said the Man, "for a frock alone cannot do that"."True", said the Lady, "I will have the shoes and the bag as well".:rotfl:0 -
Might be an idea to pm me tmrw or post a message on here to ask me how i got on as I have a tendency to forget who is who etc etc :rotfl:

They had a pile of R&M bags at the end of last week - the black ones and white ones, but no maroon. They're on top of the R&M display. No reduced No7 though
What I would recommend if you've a pinky spare is to go to the display to the left of the nail care and cotton wool. There is a big selection of No7 accessories which include a nice nail file set with case to stop it scratching the stuff in your bag, some make up applicators, a glove which I presume has some sort of exfoliating action, and more besides. A reasonable number of them are under £5, and whilst you won't get the best value as some are perhaps only £3, it's better than the crime of wasting a pinky.
I believe that the Bootsing police impose very strict penalties for wasting a pinky. They probably involve such torture as being forced to walk past a display of heavily reduced items without your purse. Any other suggestions? So many glitches, so little time...0 -
I'd also like to thank the person who let us know about the Mitchum voucher as this is the only deodrant that work for me and my sweaty son.
I decided to have a "tidy up" of the bags at the side of my bed (drawers underneath are full to bursting with Boots glitches) and couldn't believe I had 51 cans of Mitchum deodrant - we will have enough to last us for years now!!!!0 -
it is the bond street centre where bhs, and zavvi etc are opposite next on your way to the train station. x
Thanks. I'm fairly new to the area and still have to get my bearings.
Can anyone recommend and other Leeds/Pontefract/Wakefield area good Boots? Promise to share any finds! :rotfl:0 -

Sally Hansen do one (think you can get it in the £ shop too) that my daughter used and its worked...
However I found, personally, divorcing my ex did wonders for my nail growth (this may not apply to your daughter!)
Nails do grow incredibly quickly once left alone. Don't know how old she is but encourage her to use handcream often, and rub it well into the cuticles.
(this was on the leaflet in the JK files on sale in BOOTS) Once she can see some growth, a clear nail varnish will help strenghten and protect them (and look pretty too) HTH0 -
I used a couple of pinkies on these today. The small Boots on Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow was selling them for £6.50 so only cost £1.50 with voucher.0

Hi moneysaver12
Good to read that you returned to Boots (although you seem to have been flustered) but the first visit back was always going to be the worst visit
I had a strange adventure some time ago when a SA told me he knew my user name on here and most of the rest of the staff did toolol. (I won't go into it now as it would take too long) and I was mortified and never wanted to go back in the shop, probably because I'd slated one SA in that store
But I knew I had to bite the bullet eventually and I did. Now when I go shopping in that particular store I don't feel embarrassed at all as I know I'm going in to spend money - even if it's as little as possible lol, and that's all that matters I think
and the staff are great. (I'm not saying that because I know they read these threads either - they genuinely are nice people
)
