    A desktop machine is it?

You can buy a wireless card which will "talk" to the wireless router

There are loads on the market the above is just one example

The easiest method would be to buy a USB wireless adaptor. That avoids having to open the machine to install a card (which isn't very difficult but does require the use of a screwdriver and a little care).

Argos have this on half price offer (£9.99) if you're in a hurry.

And you could invalidate the warenty.

The USB device is the way I would go for now.

Get one then come back and ask how to get it working, you may have to allow the router wireless setting and you WILL have to set or know the key.
  • I have a USB dongle that does this job admirably.

It is one of these - http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/3593637/Sweex-Wireless-LAN-USB-2-0-Adapter-54-Mbps/Product.html

I also need to get a low-priced USB wireless adaptor, one that will function when plugged into old USB hubs.

Does anyone recommend getting one on the net, or is it best to go to the high street and buy on the day (without postage costs)?

Lastly, does it really matter if i change my current USB wireless adaptor, what i mean by that is, will it still work with the connection i am currently blagging from across the road? ;)

Because the adaptor is not mine.
