Lidl now take credit cards
Comments

Just been into our Lidl (Ashford, Kent). There were no posters up in the windows about taking credit cards and there is nothing on the new leaflet so I asked the girl at the checkout and she said they didn't take them, only debit cards. What is going on? Does she not know about it and am I not looking in the right place on the 14th November leaflet.0

Well, I tried it once and was left red-faced when the till didn't accept it. I had to leave my shopping and go to the hole-in-the-wall to get cash to pay for it. It still only says Switch and Solo, so I never tried again.
I always pay with a Visa debit card when in Lidl and have done in a number of different NI stores.0 -

Really? Well maybe I should try again. Just didn't want to be embarrassed again. It seemed easier just to bring cash rather than asking when there is a big queue behind you.0 -
I have paid by Visa debit card for about 12 months, in fact I am looking at a Lidl receipt dated 26/10/05 and the "card type" is "VISA DEBIT"Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0

Asked at my Lidl today and the girl knew nothing about using credit cards. I paid as usual with a debit card.0

My halifax debit card didn't work the other day, thankfully it accepted my Alliance and Leicester debit card, don't know why it accepts one and not the other??0

When I tried to use my Halifax Visa debit card, it was just after they changed from the old Switch cards. I think mine was one of the first new ones. I phoned their head office in N.I. and was told that they "didn't have the technology in place yet". But..... if everybody else can use theirs, then I'm gonna try again.0
