When Mitsubishi outsource production to another company, it's made on the same equipment using the same materials. MCC 03RG20 and RITEK.R03 refer to the media ID which shows the manufacturer, not the dye used.
Verbatim, Maxell, TDK and Taiyo Yuden are all excellent brands made to high standards.
This program will tell you what the Media ID of a disk is:

and this webpage will tell you if it's any good:

Most modern dvd writers, with up to date drivers, will be able to read and write almost anything branded. There are a few exceptions but few and far between these days.
Maybe try a sample pack from svp.co.uk for under a fiver, in case you have a non-working combination. Verbatim and TY are IMHO the best dyes / brands.0 -
It might be worth checking the DVD drive manufacturers website. They may recommend some specific makes of DVD media for your particular drive.Stompa0

Just another opinion ~ when I tried some ' Verbatim' discs on BOTH my drives they didnt work! As I said before, the ONLY ones that have worked on mine, all my friends and the various dvd players ive tested on are 'Datawrite Titaniums' (shrugs):idea:0

Have you got up to date firmware?
The codes for newer discs are usually added with each release0 -

If this happened to me, I'd be thinking counterfeit media. Even the best media has duds occasionally though, so that could be what happened. Datawrite use secondary graded media, so it will never be as well manufactured as Verbatim or any of the other premium brands. Datawrite is commonly referred to as "Datash*te".
Still, if it works for you, then keep using it.0 -

Thats a fair comment actually. Who knows, maybe they were fake (shrugs). And ive THOUSANDS of datas*ite (titanium) discs which have never broken down yet so I dont think theyre THAT bad surely!:idea:0 -
Well, fair enough.
I haven't used Datawrite disks in years, but I can tell you that when I did use them, they were very shoddily made. They had really rough edges and the label side had a nasty habit of flaking off. I don't think there's a single one of those disks that still works.
But, manufacturers do pull their socks up occasionally, so who knows?0
