It has to of been offered at that particular store even if part of a chain, unless clearly stated otherwise
Thats why they put disclaimers up near the tills or elsewhere for example saying sale items have been on offer at x number of stores for x number of days !0 -
Feel free to point out where that disclaimer is prominently placed on the website advertising this laptop offer. Or doesn't it cover online shops?0

I dont have time to search websites looking for things the price online is a RRP so dosent have to have a disclaimer anyway, shops do this all the time sell goods for higher prices at a few stores (as for online shopping they can easily put it on there website at the full price) then bring them down and sell them at all (or some)of them and say save £xx
I used to work at B+Q and we often get goods we never had before put them on the shelves with POS saying save £10 was £30 now £20 for example.0 -
I rather buy the dell inspirion 6000 for £475 (centrino, extra ram, larger harddrive better after service and looks better.)
I always ignore the rrp or % discount given values, and make sure i google and search on ebay for latest prices to compare.0 -
i personally wouldnt bother with the woolworht laptop offer, firstly its a celeron, 2ndly the fan will come on every 2mins and it makes such a loud noise, 3rdly the battery would only last 50mins, ive just purchased a dell 6000 and its very good so far, the battery last over 4 hours whichs is ideal.0

True. Though it's not listed as a new product and they have put it in the special offers section as "£500 off" and "now £499.99". Which if they haven't sold it at the higher price before, seems a bit misleading and people might mistaken it for being on sale or reduced. Plus the £999.99 RRP is unrealistic for that spec nowadays so the £500 saving could also be considered misleading.Chuffy wrote:It does say RRP, not sale or reduced so they needn't have sold it at a higher price previously.
As mentioned the TV auction bidding channel got into trouble for misleading consumers by overpricing it's guide price on items making savings look bigger than they really were, even though they claimed it was the RRP.0
