Dont touch with a (very long) barge pole.
Actually the Celeron M is perfectly competent. Even the Celeron D isn't too bad. The Northwood-based P4 celeron (which justly earned a reputation for sucktacular performance) is now a thing of the past.
However, the Dell as posted by wolves is a better deal:).0 -

BTW, to anyone thinking of buying an Inspiron 6000, I have one and I opted for the £35 extra resolution (1680x1050 WSXGA) - it was well worth it in my opinion (unless you have bad eyesight).
There is so much more space on the screen to do stuff (I used to use 800x600 :rotfl: ). Check these reduced screenshots out for an idea:0 -
I think that's quite a good deal, it would be ideal for me, as I am currently searching for a second laptop to accompany my desktop
Thanks!

It only has to be on offer at a certain amount of stores not every store when its part of a chain like Woolworths , it is a swizz at the end of the day you have to ask yourself is it worth £500 and compare with other shops0 -
What an absolute con. No way have Woolworths sold any of those laptops at £1000. Can get much better for £500 pretty much anywhere else on the highstreet.Debt as at 12th July 2006 - £61,345
Debt free 21st Oct 2011.
All thanks to :money:0 -

It has to of been offered at that particular store even if part of a chain, unless clearly stated otherwise:
DTI Code Of Practice for Traders on Price Indications1.2.2 In any comparison with your own previous price:
(a) the previous price should be the last price at which
the product was available to consumers in the previous 6
months;
(b) the product should have been available to consumers
at that price for at least 28 consecutive days in the
previous 6 months; and
(c) the previous price should have applied (as above) for
that period at the same shop where the reduced price is
now being offered.0
