Its rubbish
Yes...isn't it just. Hopefully it will shortly crawl back under its rock or go back to annoying the poor devils on the travel board.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Ignore sturll skintchick he is on a mission to offend everyone tonight. You obviously love your cat to pieces and just want what is best for her. I have two cats who are both 14 years old and i know what a nightmare it can be trying to give them tablets. The tuna you use..is it in brine? do you drain the brine off when you open the can?
If you do drain it off maybe it would last for longer if you keep it in the brine?
Just an idea. How about keeping it in the fridge in the tupperware box and adding some water to it? Worth a try to see if it stays fresh for longer x#440 sealed pot challenge0 -

It goes a bit slimy and smelly within two days.
Skintchick - there are some little "pocket" treats you can get which might help - although if you cat is anything like ours she'll sniff out the tablet, spit that out and eat the treat! How about trying her with the pill in a little pate instead? Ours loves pate and that can be frozen in tiny portions. Lidl do a twin pack of pate for about 68p if that helps.......
Might also be worth you checking your fridge temp too - stuff really shouldn't be going off quite that quickly......🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I don;t keep it in the brine but I will try that and see if it helps.
I might also try her on pate as that sounds a good tip - never knew you could freeze it.
She has learned to take it in tuna - I give her a little wrapped round the tablet, and when that is gone she gets a bit more as her treat. took a while to teach her but she's got the hang of it now!
I think maybe Value tuna isn;t the best either but I will try keeping it int eh brine first and see how that goes.

instead of buying the large tins of tuna, you could try buying 6 packs of the smaller tins. i think the costs work out just about the same.
yes, i know there are more tins but they can be recycled.
other than that there is no reason not to freeze tuna, try filling ice cube trays with it so its easier to take out of the fridge. Hope that helpsmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Value tuna happily keeps fresh for three days in our fridge. I tend not to hang onto it any longer than that as her ladyship will cheerfully nosh her way through the tin in that time!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

How about cream cheese - my dog has to have tablets and she is a master at appearing to eat the tablet only to spit it out later. Other thing to try is peanut butter or maybe butter. I'm not a fish fan especially but how about pices of salmon - I'm sure you could freeze them more successfully than tunaNever let your sucesses go to your head and never let your failures go to your heart.:beer:0

Its got to be the value tuna or the fridge.
I buy Tesco tuna steak for the family and accidentally left half a tin in a Tupperware container in the fridge for a week and it was fine.
I don’t think value tuna should go off in 2 days.
How old is the fridge?0 -
I buy Princes tuna when on offer either in brine or sunflower oil.
Any how I drain it and it lasts in the fridge for about 3 days no problem. If it not covered it dries up a little bit.

hi stinkchick
i am not here to judge, and i have less points than your 500 friend !!!
my cats are very similar to yours, they like tuna, but can not tolerate alot of it.
i hate waste too, afterall you have paid for it to be eaten, whether it is by humans or animals does not matter, so why throw it away
i buy the tescos basics tuna flakes, and i then drain it and divide it into an ice cube tray, pop it in a zip lock bag and freeze, then take out one cube a day in the morning to defrost by teatime.
hey presto job done, they take no notice, it looks and smells the same.
hope this helps
jo xthe more people i meet!! the more i like my dog !!0
