  • Is your baby walking? If spring is April then s/he will be 24 months by then, is that right?

I'd get something cheap and light instead of a Maclaren that you won't mind too much if it is damaged in transit, and you might not use all the time if they walk a lot by then too?

This is good from Mothercare, pretty light and a lot sturdier than it looks - it comes in a pink pattern too if you have a girl.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the quick reply.

Yes he is walking - I will want something sooner as my Loola is quite heavy with him in and it can be a bit of nightmare getting up kurbs etc.

I can only get the Mothercare home page on the link could you tell me the name and i'll have a look.

    Thanks
  • It's the Mothercare Jive stroller and it's £34.99.

If you're going to be using it a lot now rather than just for your hols then yes a Maclaren might be better.

Or the Chicco 0.6 LT which is what I have at the moment. Or even a Quinny? They are pretty light.

Sorry I am not much help am I! I am constantly overwhelmed by choice and am never sure I've bought the right one - on my 4th for DS having sold on ebay to fund a new one

You are being a help - thank you.

It is a minefield out there with so many of the things, this will be my third and hopefully last (saying that having looked at the jive that would be ideal for hols so might get both).

I have put my pramette on eBay though its only on £19.99 - very disappointing when it cost £300+ :(

Try a shopping site, for best places, like http://www.reviewproducts.co.uk
  • What about the umbrella style pushchairs?

At 24 months he ought to be able to walk shorter distances and the pushchair will then come in useful if he gets tired etc.

Pushchairs are usually accounted for separately with baggage allowances on planes - check with your airline.

By the umbrella style I mean these:

They cost anything from £15 to about £60 depending how basic you are going for!
I don't believe and I never did that two wrongs make a right

Have a look at the Quinney Zapp. It's very light and compact - we took it to Florida, no probs.

But it has no recline and that is the main reason I didn't take mine to Turkey with me in July for DD2 who had just turned 3 . In the heat out there it wasn't fair to be slumped uncomfortably in the Zapp . However the Petite Star Zia is virtually identicial to the Zapp but it has a recline .
Baby Thomas born 3 months early by emergency section on 21/1/09 weighing 1lb 15ozs .
Thomas came home after 3 months and 2 days in hospital weighing 5lb 15ozs
    Thomas weighed 21lb 4ozs on his 1st birthday , a total weight gain of 18lbs 5ozs !
  • Toys R Us do a Presto Bruin which is also very much like the Quinny and reclines fully - I have one but find it just a bit heavy to keep in the car - but if you're not opening/folding it all the time it's great. Good sized basket too.

I had a Maclaren XT, and it was fab.
I bought it when when my dd was about 7 months and used it til she was about 2 and a half, i then passed it on to a friend of mine when she had her dd (now just turned 2) and she uses it every day and walks everywhere.
I highly recommend one, also,i got mine from www.kiddicare.com as they were the cheapest at the time.

    Hope that helps,
