That SavService.exe points towards ~ Sophos Anti virus!
Personally ive never heard of it but id hazard a guess THATS whats slowing your computer down. You obviously have 1 gig of ram so I dont really think it will be that slow.

Sophos antivirus isn't problematic - it may well be slowing down your PC, as with all anti-virus software, but it isn't a problematic/malicious program.

Sophos is the anti-virus used by NHS employees, too.

I never said it was malicious. Its just as far as im aware it shouldnt even be ON his computer! So it looks like Sophos AND another anti virus is already on his computer! (Someone mentioned NORTON, so if thats on too it really isnt good)

remove anything in the addremove page that you dont need nor use.

Are you using wireless , might be the lag.

I have sophos only running as this is supplied to me by the college i work for, but do not have Norton on there as i took it off when i got the laptop.
