Has anyone ever got 3 to replace a contract phone?

My daughter has a Nokia 6288 on an 18 month contract with 3 mobile.
She is about 6 months into the contract.
Frankly the phone has been nothing but trouble; has been back for repair twice and now the screen keeps freezing and blanking out completely.
It also has very poor battery life and she has trouble getting a signal a lot of the time.
Before I phone them to send it in for repair again, what do you think the chances are of them giving her a different model? I suspect they won't, but I'm really regretting the contract now and am not sure where I stand.
(I know I need to ring and ask them, but you know what hard work the Indian call centre is, so I was hoping foe some advice before I get into one of those interminable conversations...!)

send it wawy for a third time and the repair centre will exchange the phone like for like. you won't get a different model though.
It is better to be thought of as an idiot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt0 -
I sent mine back twice for repair then asked for a new phone, mind you I did call the chief execs office to complain as I was getting nowhere with India who seem to think that the solution to everything is to turn it off and on then it will work!!!!

Oh I just happen to have the number for the office 08707330295 you may have better luck here!!!0 -

It has gone in for repair again now, so we'll see.0 -
I had exactly the same phone on 3, mine was sent back at least 4 times before they decided to give me a new one, that one kept playing up also, keep on at them to repair it everytime it breaks
