Cashback not being honoured

Hi everyone,

Just after a bit of advice.

I took out a 12 month T-Mobile contract in May 07 with mobileshop.com which offered me £170 cash back providing I submitted 6 separate claims by faxing my monthly bills to them towards the end of the contract.

I faxed them all six required documents within the time limits specified and received email confirmations to state that they had received and were processing these.

However, they have still not paid me the money and it is four months since the contract ended. I have emailed them twice and all they tell me is that they are processing them manually and that they will definitely honour them, although they seem incapable of telling me how long I will have to wait.

Is there anything I can do to force them into paying me or am I obliged to wait indefinitely until they can be bothered (if at all) to sort it out?

Many thanks.

You will have to threaten them with court action using the MCOL(Money Claim online) service. Check other threads with regard to non payment of cashback. You should start with a LBA(Letter before action). You should send a letter for this, not email, keep copies and send using the 'signed for' service.

My advice would be to act as quickly as possible as the 'manual processing' excuse(amongst others) has been used by other cash back companies prior to them going bust. Accept no excuses and go for the throat asap would be my advice.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Mobileshop only need threatened with court action before paying up, they do seem to realise they will incur further costs once a correctly worded LBA is received. Give them 10 days max. to pay up with LBA or tell them to wait for MCOL and act accordingly.

Don't mess, just nip it in the bud.

    Good luck,
