Moggles - in answer to your query it's Virgin (MBNA)

Judging from posts to this board, Virgin/MBNA do not report late payments to the CRAs in these circumstances.

Note for future reference: lenders vary in this respect, as with everything else. Some (eg. Barclaycard) always report late payments, even when their staff have promised
    otherwise

Direct debit definitely set up now so it shouldn't happen again!

At least set up a Direct Debit for the minimum payment!
  • Ask for written confirmation that they wont put a mark on your credit file, then at least you have proof it should be removed if it is put on
  • Thanks Chris9014 - will do

Edited to say - have just checked credit card online and £12 fee has been refunded - so that's promising I guess!

You could have made the payment using the CHAPS system which will clear it with them the same day. Would have cost about £20 to do but at least it would have been there on time.
