Get a referral to podiatry (you can self refer here.. not sure about where you are though).. physio can do nothing.. my daughter has EXACTLY the same problem as does my husband and you can get inner sole things for the inside of your shoes which tip your feet out.
Thanks for this info Pigpen. My DS ruins shoes and we were told he has joint hypermobility and he would hopefully grow out of it. I did wonder if we could get some form of support (even if just for my pocket:rotfl:) he can trash shoes in a month.

Sorry to hijack the thread - back to the rubbing thighs now!
    I have plenty of willpower - it's won't power I need.

I have 3 with hypermobility amongst other things and have just self referred the third to podiatry.. if I am told once more to buy the girls ankle boots in summer I think I might just cry!! lol One has just insoles that are slotted into the shoe to tip their feet in the correct direction but another has adapted ones for other issues she has. Our referrals here go through the main childrens centre if that helps you any.. and if the child is at school the school nurse can refer them too... but they don't like to share this info very often!

Have to agree with Pigpen. As a youngster my Mum noticed that I walk with my feet at an angle. Luckily she took me to a chiropodist, who sent me on to a podiatrist. As with your son, doctors had advised that I would grow out of it and similar to Pigpen's daughters, that I should have ankle boots.

It is best to take your child when they are about 7ish, as they will have developed far enough from toddler to be able to give a good representation of how they will develop as adults, but their bones are still forming, which means that the problem may be improved.

Definately do take him though, as it may help him avoid a lifetime of pain. Without my insoles, my problem is sufficiently bad that my back and shoulders are mis-aligned, which would in itself cause back problems eventually. I don't want to scare you, but I really would recommend you take this further. (My mum had Bupa cover which helped 15 years ago, if that is of any use to you.)

As this thread has gone way off the topic of mending jeans I'm going to close it temporarily and ask the MSE team to take a look to see if it should be reinstated.
