    Hi everyone

I sent everything off to CCCS on Thursday last week. I received an email from them on Monday saying that they hadn't received my info back but I am hoping that it is with them now. I haven't heard anything else anyway.

Truly - have you received a pack back yet to pay your first payment to them? I'm hoping they will contact my creditors soon as I am getting hassle from some of them, even though I have sent token payments, letters and called them to say that I am going on a DMP and have given them my CCCS number.

I managed to pay my rent this month anyway and have been ok for money for food and bills.

I saw that woman Kath Kelly on This Morning today, she is the woman who lived on £1 a day for a year. Has really inspired me to tighten my belt.

I've decided that I am going to join the library so that I can get some good books to read when I am not answering questions.

I'm also going to do some try me free offers so that I can get some freebies to save on my food shopping. I've got 6 mystery shops lined up this month and next and 3 of those give me free food and drink.

I've just signed up for a free Blockbuster DVD rental trial for 1 month so will hire out all of the films that I have been dying to see.

I'm going to a wedding reception at the weekend and can't really afford a present but would feel awful to turn up without one. Anyone got any ideas?

Hi Emily, just wanted to say good luck with everything. I have been following the payment a day challenge for a few weeks now and you have really inspired me to tackle my debts! Im sure you will cut down their estimate for paying off your debts, and i am looking forward to reading your journey along the way! x

Thanks - how long did it take between sending back your debts letters, income etc before you received your pack back with the first payment slip? Just a bit concerned that I sent it back a week ago and haven't heard anything yet. Maybe I should call them. I won't be able to pay anything until the end of the month when I get paid again.

I don't think it costs that much to pay in at a post office - I thought it was a couple of quid?
  • it wasnt long but i did ring and check they had everything think that gave them abit of a push think it was about a week, need to find out if a standing order is ok for the 2th of each monthas they need it by 1st is a standing order immediate into their account or u think theyll need it sooner?

I think that a standing order isn't immediate, however they don't make the payment to the creditors until later in the money (25th or something like that) so I expect they will be ok for the standing order to be made when you get paid. I will have to set mine up for the last working day of each month.

I think I will ring them if I don't receive anything by Monday.

  • good idea best to check theyve got everything, i might give them a ring and ask for another standing order mandate if i havent had one by the time payments due she said first payment has to be made at the post office with the slip but its abit much to keep paying a fee each month for paying at the post office
