  • 'No wonder people shoot their neighbours'

That's what I say every time I go to my car to find that they have parked so close they are touching my bumper, just so they can park DIRECTLY outside their house. The gate, to be precise.
... and when I get woken up at 9am on a sunday with the drilling and banging which always seems to be on the wall right next to the bedroom.

They have two weird little girls (who think it's funny to knock on my living room window and run off) who run up and down the wooden stairs screaming and shouting and every now and again I get a blast of their music choice.

I too live in a terraced house and maybe it's something to do with the house but everyone who has lived there the last 4yrs have been weird, noisy and obsessive about parking outside the gate!

I regularly fantasise about going in their house at 9am on a sunday and whacking him on the head with that damn hammer before pushing him out of the window!
Watch out people. You don't know what lurks around the corner for you![/SIZE]
  • we have a bit of mutual 'respect' going on in our terrace. The lads that live next door tend to have lots of people back after clubbing Thur/Fri and Sat so Sunday morning, I get up extra early do the hoovering, practice the piano and tuba! Generally this only happens every couple of months!
    Smile it confuses people!

Thought I would resurect this as my neighbours have been at it again. Kanga hammer for 3 days digging up concrete path and drive. Wooden palettes and rubbish left on the pavement and roads for 5 days. Then their dubious pavers - freephone number on van but no address and not coming up on any search engine- hassling us to have our drive done for £3k cash! Now they have taken delivery of 12 palettes of bricks which completely block the pavement for about 40 foot. :(

Maybe you should make some of your own noise, hey, if you can't beat them join them!!! Maybe a little opera or mowing in the morning (the night after the party). Maybe they'll then get the message. :D

Even better. Make sure its an action movie like 'Die Hard', or maybe a romance movie like Titanic just for the sound track. Or a bit of nostalgia - Sound of Music? You could sing along!

Worth an anonymous call to council to complain about blocked pavement? I know you don't want things to get inflamed but if they annoy everyone in the street they won't know it's you, will they?

I'm not able to mow my lawn at 5pm without being called an inconsiderate and bad mannered neighbour!!!
The neighbours concerned however can be partying outside until early hours and also seem to think they can use my garden as their own. They do not see that as bad mannered of course..........

Tried ringing the council about the pavement. Still blocked with the bricks plus about a ton of rubbish. They said police matter. Police say council matter. Told council I would sue them if I was injured by this obstruction as I had informed them and they had taken no action. Now shall I be naughty and ring the insurance section and ask for a form to complete just to see if they will then send someone out to inspect ;)
