Who did you book with please mad? I booked from Heathrow to NY via Detroit with jetabroad.com.au - I've emailed them suggesting that other companies are having the original price honoured my NWA, but no reply yet. Although NWA's website still shows ny flights as confirmed, and I've now chosen my seats.

  • Booked through expedia, NWA to New york and Air France back.

The money has been taken from my CC, but Northwest Airlines Sydney have taken it!?!?

This IS for the return flight as well isn't it?
  • I'm glad to hear expedia.com still seem to be processing the transactions; but still feel like kicking myself for booking with jetabroad.com! .... hmmm ... you say NWA SYDNEY have taken the money, thats who jetabroad.com say they are awaiting confirmation from. Perhaps expedia have more "sway" in the travel industry so NWA have honoured the price, where as they dont care about jetabroad.com because its a "little company"

  • Hi all

I ws just wondering if those of you who booked with bestflights.com got charged more than once... perhaps an admin fee? I have only had one payment taken from my credit card and that was for BEST FLIGHTS LEEDERVILLE £9.17..... will the airline I'm flying with take the money at a later date????

    What happened to you guys?
  • I've been following this on several threads, and i seen people mention two amounts showing on their credit cards but then only one amount is taken (the correct amount) ... perhaps the £9.17 is the processing fee ... but i though that is added to the total price, do you have a 2nd amount showing as "processing" on your cc statment?

  • Thanks very much for answering, I'm starting to panic over this as I'll be so disappointed if it falls through as in my head I'm already on holiday!!!

There is only this transaction on my credit card and nothing is showing yet as processing. The £9 was taken on the 28/8...
  • You could ask the same question over on the "travel forum" ..there is a thread about the cheap usa flights, and more people are likely to view it.

  • Good evening everyone - very first post - please be kind!

I had an experience with American Airlines last year which might be relevant to the flights booked through the Aus/US sites.

I booked through the AA.com (US site) (as opposed to AA.co.uk) as a mistake. As a consequence they held the money as pending on my credit card for 10 days! When I questioned what was going on as I thought I had paid and it had gone through American Airlines advised that as I had booked the flight through the US site and paid in dollars they had to hold the money for ten days to check that the exchange rate given was correct - I know it sounds bonkers but there was nothing I could do!

I just wondered whether the money which is pending on your credit cards is being held for the same reasons. My flights were all fine and I received an e.mail 10 days later from American Airlines in Dublin!!! advising that the transaction had been processed.

I checked with Barclaycard VISA who I paid with and they said that this was common practice for airlines to do this.

It seems a really odd way of going about things but thought this might help someone. Best of luck all
