"Orange suffered an untimely setback in the same week that it brought back its free broadband offer to its own stores.
The network was given the ignominy of being labeled one of the worst broadband providers by the respected consumer magazine, Which? "

i just called oragne (again- said they would call back Friday but didnt) my ISP has been a nightmare over the past 6 weeks with virtually no broadband connex at all..and if there was it was so shaky that data didnt download - got IE page errors saying check the connection......
Now ..i rung orange on the recommendation of a couple of friends who both have Orange BB with no problems...the offer was £0 for 2gb limit or £5 for 8gb. Now they say they cannot providied me with that offer, only the £15.00 p.m..as my line does not support the £5/0 offer....ummm am i being thick or what but if they can supply BB at £15 why cant they do the £5 offer ????? I got the same thing with Sky - no to the £5 but yes to the £19.99 offer......
please can someone explain to me why this is ?? btw SKy said our exchange cannot supply as its "bundled" but a BT engineer said there is no reason why not as its is actually "un bundled"...?????
as it is i dont have much option but to stay with who i have at present....event tho they say my router is faulty - wont send another (supplied by them not yet 6 mths old) but i dont think it is faulty. hopefully a friend will call later today with his exact same router to try on my machine..sorry lots going on....but biggest issue is can they or cant they supply broandband - or are they saying that to increase their revenue - has anyone really had the £5 offer from Orange or Sky ??
cheersWhat goes around - comes around

I don't think Orange or Sky are lying to you, for a change:-).
If you live in an area where they have their own equipment in your local exchange they can do the offers, this is called LLU (local loop unbundling, or something like that!).
If like me, you live in a rural area there is very little chance of your exchange being 'unbundled', and therefore you will be unable to take advantage of the lower price offers.0 -
thank you rpstdavids. i was thinking they were pulling a fast one !! I live in a fairly rural area, but still only 5 klm from the main mid wales exchange.........update on router - i got my mates here now and the connex is just as shaky !! so figure that the router is not my problem - try telling that to AOL India !! so i've written a letter of compalint to their VP Member Servies now based at Southampton (used to be in Bristol along with a call centre)..................in the meantime i done fone a friend - whos doing fone a friend 2 get a BT engineer out here as getting one via my ISP is a mare ..5 requests in 6 weeks...figure it would b easier to make contact with an alien rofl...What goes around - comes around
