New sim with Orange upgrade

My wife has just received her new HTC Diamond after an upgrade with Orange, and there's a new sim card with it. Does she have to register this new sim or just continue using the old one that she had in her SPV handset?

Thanks

Edit: Ok, so I've read the paperwork and it appears we do have to register it, so please ignore!

You should reg the new one, stuff like insurance won't kick in til it's done.

Also if you've got a better deal, more minutes, texts, browsing etc none of that will start until the new sims started.

Not true about the new plan not kicking in. That's set for your bill date and won't be affected by not registering the sim.

however, do register it. It will cause issues with warranty/insurance etc if you dont, and also, you have a new phone but using an old sim is a bit like putting an old piece of kit in a brand new car - why do it when you have the new one? Just remember to transfer any contacts to the phone first. ;)

That's the issue, there's so many contacts and although they can be transferred to the phone in a block from the old sim, they can't then be transferred as a block onto the new sim from the phone, so have to be transferred one by one, which is too much hassle.

I actually called Orange and they confirmed it's absolutely fine to just put the old sim in and as long as it works, which it does, carry on as normal.
