Can I?
Got a phone through work last year.
They wanted me to have one, they pay the line rental, but I have to claim, they will pay for any work related calls as well, very few and I can't be bothered due to the time it would take.
So I'm thinking of chucking it in. Can I change the phone to PAYG? It is Vodafone.

Yes as long as the phone is in your name and out of contract. I changed a vodafone contract to PAYG a couple of years ago. Takes a month to do as you have to give 30 days notice0

If the contract is over 1 year old now, which I presume it must be, as you said you got it last year (or near to 12 months anyway), then you can just swap the simcard over to one of the free vodafone ones available online.
If you want to keep the same number, this can be done aswell. Just a case of giving them a ring.
You can also keep the same sim card, but it does take a bit longer from what I remember.0
