Headset broken after just 1 month, do I have a claim?
I have an iPhone, and I bought a headphone adaptor with it so I could use my own headphones while maintaining a microphone for hands-free calls. It is a Griffin SmartTalk adapter which I bought in CPW about a month back.
After a month's use the cable seems to have worn to an extent that I have lost one side of the audio completely (I can hear only on the right side using the adapter).
I am rather dissatisfied that the adapter has lasted barely over a month. I acknowledge that there has been some wear and tear, but this has been from normal use, and a product designed to plug into a portable device should IMHO be able to withstand the rigours of its owner walking around while using it. Would I still have any claim under the Sale of Goods Act for the item not lasting a reasonable length of time? (that would be my only ground anyway)

The question is whether it was fit for the purpose for which it was sold.
If you can honestly say that you used it in a way that a reasonable person would expect to use the product and it did not last a reasonable period of time, you should at the minimum expect to be able to have it repaired/replaced under warranty.*I reserve the right to have an opinion, the right to change this opinion and the right to be wrong.*Hope that helps.
