But when you order online (at least when i ordeed with ASDA recently) you have to tick a box to say you accept substitutes.I did this, but they didn't particularly point them out,but i did have the invoice, and it was clearly shown). It WAS shown on the list, and if they won't budge, what can you do?

They didn't give you a receipt but you had a list? It had no prices on?

The staff at my local Sainsbury's seem to have had a collective personality transplant. They are now so pleasant and helpful it's a real joy to shop there, I made a few enquiries and it seems it is down to a new manager with the right attitude.

So forget the home delivery, just come to Newbury Park for a great retail experience...!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

With Sainsburys you get a receipt with all items and prices on, you also get an A4 page with subs and not avaliable as well as short life items on. This does not show any prices, all it says is "See Receipt". So if the OP did not get a receipt then they would have no idea how much the shop cost or what the price difference between subs was.

£8 difference is also a massive amount for a sub, things like this should be pointed out, I have had Olive oil subbed before for another brand at nearly double the price. Accepting subs is one thing, but they should not cost substantially more then the original item ordered imho.

I think the op is saying she lost out because of a bogof?not just a straight sub.
  • One of the BOGOFs was substituted for something else that wasn't included in the BOGOF, so I got charged full price for both items, so charged around £26 instead of £16.

Did you agree to accept substitutes?
