Blackberry on T-mobile

Hey, not sure if covered apologies if it has. I did a search prior to posting and found no matches

anyway. I recently upgraded my phone to a Blackberry Pearl on T-Mobile. I am on a contract that is no longer offered by them but you can continue the package if you are on it. I am on FlexT 12 months with free weekend calls. I pay 35 quid a month.

As a result in order to benefit from blackberry services and recieve multimedia msgs I had to add on web n walk and blackberry service. Both are 7.50 each. If after a month I find I do not use the internet on the phone much I would want to cancel but still recieve mms.

T mobiles said its required to recieve mms because of how blackberry phones are designed.

Is there not a way to recieve picture texts without the additional add on?

I saw this article but it was american based

Is there anything I can do? I have web n walk free for one month but sti have to pay for the blackberry service in order to recieve pics etc

  • You need the blackberry feature to use the blackberry phone. As far as I was aware they brought the price of this down to £5 sometime ago, this allows you to access the internet, emails etc. The webnwalk add on, if you don't want it or need it you don't have to have it. Taking this off wont affect your MMS as you will still have an internet connection, you just wont be paying for a package.

So technically, it's only going to cost you at least £5 more for the feature.

Pretty sure the reduction to £5 was only on 18 month contracts.

I'm not sure, as blackberry is a weaker point of mine, but I can recember internet and blackberry services being £10 on 18m contracts, and on the older 12m flext contracts, i think it was £12.50 as a package contract, but because this contract no longer exists, they have to add them on seperatly to the account, which makes it the full amount. I'll check if we've any of the older catalougues at work as well when i'm back thurs.

  • I must apologise. checked at work today, It's £5 when your on eg. flext+web n walk priceplan. £7.50 otherwise. you still don't have to have Web n walk if you dont want to though.

See what you miss when your only working 2 days a week lol
