Are you using a long grain rice?

Try Basmati and see if it makes a difference.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

I boiled some value rice the other day and it tasted horrible. I tried frying it, adding various bits and bobs and eventually drowning the whole thing in soy sauce just to make it vaguely edible.

I firmly believe value pasta tastes as nice as branded pasta, but I'm not getting on very well with value rice either, lynzpower!

No this is the first time I started using it ( trying to economise and its one of the last things to downshift!)

Sadly its like a load of slop, even when I follow instructions to the letter, including pouring on boiling water!

Was even considering a rice cooker to see if that helped....!!

Waste of money if you have a microwave. Just buy better quality rice.

You win some, you lose some... So all I need to do is buy some 'proper' rice and stick it in the microwave? It strikes me as too easy... :rotfl:

One thing is for sure, I'm never boiling value rice again! I spent ages scrubbing the bloody pot afterwards and it didn't even taste nice!
