Apologies if my post was confusing.
Only moderators can pull threads on here, a BG like me can temporarily remove them as well pending review but I can assure you ebay have no influence on here.
My post suggested that either a user, or a browser visits these boards and then acts on some of the scammer threads we post by getting auctions closed or whatever. If for instance we get a thread about a scammer with an auction ending in the close future it is often remarked that the auctions get pulled within a couple of hours of being discussed here, not even a basic powerseller has that sort of influence with ebay so I made an asusmption (possibly incorrect) that we must have a high metal powerseller who dislikes scammers and who uses their ebay business advisor to assist when people are likely to be ripped off.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. If you need any help on these boards, do let me know.. Please note that Ambassadors are not moderators. I think it's more likely to be a few people. I've reported a few scams.0 -

I don't like reporting people for two reasons 1) i don't like the idea of 'dobbing some in' and 2) we break the rules in various areas.
But I have 5 times fairly recently, and interestingly the only time action came was from reports which came from our main account, and it was within hours. The other reports from new smaller accounts were just ignored.
Does this board get monitored by ebay?? who knows, but it certainly can be powerful as this thread proved...

I would be very surprised if it didn't. This is one of the biggest UK consumer sites there is. It doesn't seem unlikely eBay are going to keep an eye on what people are saying on it.0 -

I'm not sure they's bother frankly, what would it achieve?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Tim_Deegan wrote: »Unfortunately they are a law unto themselves. I have actually reported 3 sellers for selling fake memory foam mattresses, but they refuse to do anything unless Trading Standards get involved.
How do you know there fakes if you haven't actually purchased them?
If you so concerned why haven't you reported them to trading standards yourself?0 -

If i had a company and it pretty much had its own board on here, I'd have someone checking in to see what people are saying about it, especially with all the big changes going on recently.0
