this one I posted yesterday/early this morning which should be great for your little girl. My DD is currently into Bratz, Hannah Montana and High School Musical. I got HSM2 for £6.99 from play.com which I was chuffed about - she had some birthday money, also got Hannah Montana - 2 dolls for £10 from Tesco reduced from £20 last weekend. My DD says with the Bratz I got her yesterday from Wilkos £12 reduced from £24 that I've got her Xmas present now.
For your little boy - my tesco was selling a hobby horse in the style of a shark which if put in water could be used to squirt water - half price £3.50 from £7. I find you can normally get £1 board books in the works. Wilkos has lots of half prices toys including for boys.... Asda have disney bubbles reduced with toy story toppers (and disney princess toppers).... Lots of bargains to be had.
I'm pretty much sorted for my DD and DS plus have a few party presents sorted thro the finished baskets thread...
I bought a mug yesterday for OH saying Hi gorgeous! that I'm planning to put some of his fave sweets in for Xmas.... I'm also earning vouchers through Bview - if you want to give it a go - just mention that "wisechoices" referred you and I get to benefit too. Hope to use Amazon vouchers from that for other presents at Xmas.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

One of the best things I bought mine at around that age was an easel. It was from ELC and has chalkboard on one side and white board (for use with wipe off pens) on the other. You can clip paper to it too, for painting. And the white side is magnetic so you can use it with magnetic letters, numbers & shapes.
They have produced many a work of art, played hangman & noughts & crosses etc, and played school with it. Its been out on the lawn a lot, sometimes as a scoreboard for various games.
It honestly has been one of the most used and longest used toys and they still use it now at 11 & 13 as a sort of message board.0 -
My DS2 has just turned 3 and the toys he plays with constantly are his Matchbox cars, giant road mat and toy garage.
Other good things for that age range: Scooter, Quad bike (pedal power) small garden trampoline
For christmas Santa is bringing him a Vtech hand held console (to stop him trying to nick his big brother's nintendo DS!)Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. My little boy is 4 and he constantly plays with his toy cars that he had in his stocking last year. He also got a scooter last year which he still adores. He will be getting a DS Lite and game from us for Christmas (bought back in Feb when I found a good deal!)
In his stocking he is getting lots of Orchard Toys games, which I can highly recommend for little ones as they are sturdy and educational. My two play with theirs all the time, even my 8 year old daughter likes them! The best ones I have found are Greedy Gorilla, Tummy Ache and Washing Machine.0 -
my little boy was 3 in april and I fobbed him off with SS(21) old game boy advance for last Christmas when dad and SS got Ds lite's and he was more than happy with it ! IMO little ones don't see how much it cost's just how many there is .
I bought most of his gifts in Jan sales and just know he will be over the moon .... wait till they get 13 that's when the prob's begin xx0 -

All my 2 boys (7 and 4) Play with from last xmas is Dr Who stuff and the Leapster hand held game we bought them (Agree these are the best things we bought have kept them quite for hours on long journeys), everything else was hardly touched after xmas day.
This year we have bought them some new Leapster games, and the classic series Dr.Who figures which I've just ordered.
Will be making them some bits too and getting them some craft stuff, but thats it this year, might sound like not a lot but the games are expensive and the Dr who figures aren't cheap either.
We also spent a fortune last year, and have promised not to do it this year.:D:D:D:D

My little boy has just turned 3, he adores playing with Thomas the Tank engine so we have bought him a 2nd hand Take along Thomas set from eaby, bought it in bits & pieces rather than 1 big lot so worked out cheaper, have got about £400 worth of Thomas set for approx £120. We plan to give him the engines, signals etc wrapped up indvidually in his stocking form Father Christmas & leave the track & buildings set up in the living room from Mum & Dad.
At this age cost clearly has nothing to do with it as they have no understanding of such matters, it's all about selecting the right thing for your child.
Good luck whatever you decide.;)Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0 -
