I bought a car recently - it came with a free engine, free alloy wheels, free radio, free A/C, free foglights, etc."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

I bought a pair of shoes,one came free.0

Well, it's a matter of twhat you class as free. You pay for2 shoes, one isn't free, that's because they are sold as a pair! Same with a car, you pay for the engine etc of course.
What the point is here is the silly use of the term "absolutely free"
Absolutely means just that, Absolutely free. When firms use the term Absolutely free, they are stating that it is free, Absolutely. However, they are not offering anything Absolutely free, they are either offering something free, or free with purchase or free with contract etc.
If they just said "free" it wouldn'tbe so irritating. "Buy one get one free" Thats fine. "Free door with six windows" thats fine too. "Free mobile phone when you take out an 18 month contract" also fine.
Just stop saying it's ABSOLUTELY free cos it isn't!!!
I feel better now!0 -
Surely, free or absolutely free mean absolutely the same?

We have a sign at our local corner shop saying "Link FREE cash"
I know it means free withdrawals when using the ATM but I keep wanting to go in and ask for my free cash0 -

I'd really like to take on one of these companies and insist on having whatever they are advertising as Absolutely free by insisting that they have advertised an item on National television as Absolutely free, and therefore I will have the item advertised Absolutely free from any other obligations on my part!
Don't you have better things to do?"Love you Dave Brooker! x"
"i sent a letter headded sales of god act 1979"0
