anyone opened a A&L current account with quidco ?

I applied for the alliance & leciester current account through quidco last night so i could earn the £50 for opening a new account .It said to check my email to see whether i had been accepted or not ( my credit rating isnt to good so i may not be accepted ) when i checked my email it just said they will be in contact in the next 24hrs
I opened the A&L saving account through Quidco a couple of days ago same thing i had to check my email but the email said it had been accepted straight away .
Has anyone else opened the current account online through quidco did it tell you that you had been accepted straight away or did you have to wait 24hrs ?

Just another quick question who are A&L linked to finacially ?

I have no idea about who they are linked to sorry! but I did open the 21 account on friday morning through quidco and I heard friday afternoon that I was accepted so it only took a few hours really.
nothing is showing up on quidco yet though and I know it's always a gamble to whether you get the money or not - it says I think that it has a 5day average for tracking, so I guess we'll see!

A & L are linked to A & L!! Although they will shortly be purchased by Santender who own Abbey.

I think I heard after about 24hrs ye, I got my £50 through Quidco without problems so aslong as you cleared the cookies that should be fine. Im going to try get £20 through Quidco for the esaver account too, has anyone done this successfully? I thought there might be complications as I have the current account already.
  • I can confirm that Alliance and Leicester were very quick for me. I applied for the esaver account on 11 May 2008 and was paid on 1 July 2008.

Never put a penny in it either. Might do one day when I'm rich.
  • I applied for A&L account on Thur, got an e-mail minutes later to say that application was successful.

Nothing showing on my Quidco yet so keeping my fingers crossed.

I applied yesterday afternoon and have not heard anything back...I am guessing probably because the department that deals with applications will be closed today as it is a bank holiday. Tried ringing them and they are deffo closed...will prob find out tommorrow!

I applied online and it took a day or so for the email titled "good news", however i have not received my quidco (not even the £0 thats meant to track, ensured all cookies were clear) and this was 2 weeks ago now :o

Hopefully I get the 'good news.' email tomorrow. I have not applied for anything for the last 7 months so that hopefully helps. It just depends on my score in the end!

I applied for the A&L esaver friday and got the GOOD NEWS email around 30mins after applying .I dont think i have a good credit report so i may be refused for the current account (i think its easier to get a saving account than a current account i am right ?) When it said let you know in 24hrs it may be because its closed today not sure or they may be refusing me il keep my fingers crossed i may hear something tomorrow .

That was a bit of a gamble wasn't it?...in terms of A&L having an excuse not to pay out the incentive.

Having said that, I applied for a Post Office Instant Saver earlier this year. I never heard anything from them, but still got my £15 from Quidco 6 weeks later. :D

Yes, because there's no 'credit' involved (and no cheque books, debit cards, etc to send out...just an e-mail and one letter).
