Scottish people have a worldwide reputation as being welcoming and friendly.

You have to be a Scot. Only a Scot would make a statement like that.:rotfl::rotfl:

Mitchaa....I knew you would upset the "real NE people" as soon as I read your post!! If you were so bothered about the NE reputation you would'nt class yourself from there!

I can speak from experience as I was brought up here, 10miles from Newcastle but have spent 13 years living in Harrogate before moving back "up north" to raise my family. I agree that Harrogate and York are lovely places but I am afraid to a non-Yorkshire unbiased eye you have demonstrated the perception of snobby arrogance that alot of people from there show.

I love both areas of the North and both have some really rough areas and chavvy people (I can qualify that statement as I deal with the criminal side of both on a daily basis).....but I certainly know which of the two is the most friendly and welcoming!!

It is possible to voice an opinion without being so insulting.
