Does anyone have an official `high-up` address to write to at Abbey?
Re my previous post, we still haven`t had any confirmation that the £100 has been returned to Mum`s account, despite making 4 calls to CS who have said they will get the branch concerned to contact us.
I want to vent my spleen at them in writing!!!
Because if its the last one, so many variables like wrong account numbers etc.
But abbey are bad, I had an account with them for 2 months, closed it and they failed to action the closure at the "banking centre", still get yearly statements and they infact now me money LOL the sum of £1
But abbey are turds of the highest order0 -

Best of luck with that!
I've been trying to close my credit card account with them for the last 8 months... excuses include:
account is in debit- because they'd charged me interest even though I pay in full by direct debit
account it in credit - refunded charge but refused to credit it to a different account
do not believe I am the account holder?!?!
computer system down
And the best:
"there are more benefits in you keeping the account open than closing it"
To which I asked if false interest payments, 7 days not able to use card when santander took over and appauling telephone customer services were actually of benefit!0 -
Wait wait, did you have a card or a paying in slip? or was the details just on a bit of paper?

Mum gave the cashier her account opening letter as that`s all she`s ever been given with her account details on. The cashier held the letter in front of her and typed the details in and she`s put the money into a stranger`s account.
This happened on 9th October and we still haven`t had any acknowledgment that this action has affected 2 different accounts, with both accounts having over £50k in them! No apology, nothing!
Calling CS results in them saying we`ll look into and get the branch to call you... As Del Amitri once said "nothing ever happens".0 -

Yeah, I've no doubt I'll have a struggle with it...I feel your pain, have the same problem with citibank...not sure if it's a deliberate ploy to stop me closing the account, or whether they really are *that* incompetent....it's all fun and games, though, ain't it...0 -

I recently applied for a Santander Zero Credit card, lured by the promise of "0% foreign exchange fee" and " the only credit card in the UK that doesnt charge usage fees when you use it".
Off I went on my holidays to France using the card in the knowledge it wasnt costing me anything.
Just got my statement and its littered with International use charges, what a shambles they are. Im off now to ring them up to sort this mess out but I'm not confident that will be an easy process from all I've read about them !!0 -
Explain this.. I applied for an abbey current account a bit over a month ago online, and then today i got a letter through the post saying...
'Dear xxxxxx
Unfortunately when opening your account it was not exited correctly, therefore we cannot access the application to process your Bank Account. If you still wish to open this account please re-apply online.
We apologise for any inconvience.
If you have any questions, please give us a call on the number above or pop into your local branch.'
And I feel on 2nd thoughts, I don't think so!0
