Afternoon ladies!
Ok, firstly..
Joanne, I don't know you but having read your post, I feel so much for you. All I can do is repeat what others have said in that at least it's here now and the worst has happened. It must have been such an awful 12 months for you both, waiting and stressing.. Am sending lots of positive thoughts your way and as people have said, you are in the right place once you are ready to take the next steps.. some of these boards are just amazing.
Thanks for the advice Valli.. yes, I too make a list of what I want to say.. I sometimes even script my opening line!
Hippy - A chocolate cupboard. Was I alone in imagining a cupboard made of chocolate that you could just take bites out of?? Hmmm.. maybe I need a lie down...:rotfl:
Ok, today I need to make two phone calls
2 x Email to make two appts
Spend an hour on Slicethepie to earn some shekels
parcel up QVC returns and give to OH
Get into garden and cut back penstemmons, lavenders and water lilies.
Weed herb garden
Find C/C statements and write cheques
Dig shallow grave for annoying fat cat who won't stop trying to walk all over the keyboard and bites me when I push her off!!
Ok, maybe I won't do that last one..
Hugs to anyone who needs them today and to the rest of you working so hard... I am continually exhausted by your posts. :rotfl: Is it possible to get tired just READING about others being busy?? :rotfl:
Diva.xTo be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough. If you can't handle me at my worst then you don't deserve me at my best...Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I will try again tomorrow.0 -
Post first and read later!
Afternoon all.
One load of washing out on the line. I've got another load to do (DD's bedding) but the weather is supposed to be better tomorrow so I'll do that then.
DD and I took 8 bags of garden rubbish to the local composting centre and we bought two bags of their compost which I've spread over the border. I'll dig it in in a week or two before I buy plants.
I'm hoping to cut the back grass a bit later if the washing ever dries.
Rang up for a quote for a new bathroom and he's coming round tomorrow morning so I'm going to wait and do the bathroom first thing tomorrow.
That's it I think, off to catch up.
Sorry life is being so difficult Johanne, but glad you felt able to come here for our support which will be freely given.0 -
meh... know i said i wouldnt post here anymore but never needed you guys so much need somone to tell how upset i am and i dont have any real friends in "the real world" i could tell.... plus your the only people who would also understand my despair that sarahs gorgeous nursery (and numerous rooms around the house) are now packed to the ceiling with binbags and boxes and furniture...... so much so i cant even step into the nursery as its that full
Today is the day ive been dreading happening for over 12 months and it finally has.OH not being able to pay the mortgage on his old place and it being in too poor a state to sell has finally caught up with him and its being repossessed in an hour or so...
Hi Johanne, I hope you don't mind me answering as I'm a newbie on here, but I just wanted to send you my best wishes and to let you know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, although you won't feel that way now.
I am so sorry that this has happened to you, we lost our beautiful home 7 years ago now, and were lucky enough to sell up before that happened and moved into a much smaller home - which was pretty much like you are now, too much stuff, boxes piled to the ceiling and just walkways to get around at first till we sorted it out (took a while). But then had to sell our new smaller home because we were still unable to keep up payments and in the end we went bancrupt. We rented for 6 months, but that was astronomical each month, then we lived with a relative for a while before getting temporary accommodation for being homeless. They put us in a godawful part of town for nearly 3 years - I nearly had a breakdown at this point and it was the lowest part of my life - but we were finally rehoused and have been in our new home for 2 years - it's not perfect but it is home.
Once you sort out your home now, settle everything down and get rid of a lot of stuff that you don't need it helps clear things up - this won't happen overnight and I really hope you can get through it without too much pain, because it is really hard. Then you can start the budgeting thing and sorting yourself out.
We can't get credit or anything, but we did try for a mortgage just over a year ago and was accepted (Northern Rock  ) so you will be able to get one - just use this time to save whatever you can towards your deposit however small and you will get the home you dream of.
I haven't read any more posts since I read yours, but I am sure that the lovely ladies on here will give you all the moral support you need and I would love to be able to add mine when I can - You can do it and you will get through eventually, it is all time and at the moment it must seem that the world has collapsed about you, just take time to get your feelings out, shout, scream, cry, stamp your feet, or post on here and do whatever you need to do, just don't bottle it up coz that's when it gets you down and its a slow process. I wish you all the best, take care,

Dusty - those tulips are wonderful! I am inspired. Must get the catalogue out this evening. I've not had much money this holiday, so I put it away out of temptations way!

:hello:sexymouse!
rach and soappie - have a lovely time.
Now I've forgotten all the other things I was going to say, I knew I should have written them down!
Lively night, as DS1 came back with friend who'd missed his train, so I had a spare teenager on the livingroom floor. DD was on time, but then decided to make spaghetti bolgnese at 11pm. Aaargh - you should have seen the kitchen! I was up early, as I wanted to give a final polish before friend came for coffee. In fact, the house looked pretty much okay, but just a few tweaks! I did the cloakroom and bathroom to Level Three as well.
Friend is children's headteacher, and he'd just been in to hand over the keys to his successor. He's been at the school for 25 years, and I think he's going to miss it hugely - although has been headhunted for consultancy for the county. Got to know him when DS was ill, and became friends then, although he's always so busy don't get to meet up very often. Had lovely chat. Not to mention nice bisciuts! (I'm not supposed to be eating those, as I went back on diet on Tuesday, I've put on too much weight over the last six months.)
Ooh, it's brightening up outside. I shall grab some lunch, and then go downtown again with DD to try and open this bank account.I have more photos to pick up as well, and may get some wool - I feel like knitting something! I didn't have time yesterday to go and look at wool. Maybe some socks? I like knitting those, quite small and achievable. I feel entitled to take the rest of the day off , having had such a good start! It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
