Good value for money double bed

Hello everyone. I also posted this in the Home/DIY forum but since it is a student issue I'm reposting it here and will hopefully get some more input.
I'm an undergrad student about to go into my final year and have just moved into a VERY nice house with a great landlord. Only problem is, the rooms only have single beds (divan) and I'm a fairly big guy (6'4") and also roll around quite a lot in my sleep. Also, I've had a pretty good double bed for the past two years and this single bed has a pretty bad quality springy mattress so the single bed sadly has to go.
It's not really fair to ask the landlord for a new bed so I'll have to by my own. I'll only need it for a year though as I'll be leaving the country at the end of my degree, so this won't be an investment but rather a temporary purchase that I will hopefully manage to sell off at the end of the year.
So basically I'm asking for advice in buying a 3/4 or double divan base and nice firm mattress that will be good value for money as I am just a poorly student. It could also be a bed frame instead of divan but because of my height I prefer divan beds so that my feet just hang off the end instead of hit the end of the frame, so it depends on the frame really.
What sort of money should I expect to spend on this and how much could I make back at the end of the year if I manage to sell it?
Thanks!

Not sure how much you could buy it for.
However, you could politely as the landlord if he wishes to contribute some money towards it and then let him keep it at the end of the year, he is more likely to then say 'actually yeh, ok, will be willing to give you blah for it'.
But obviously if he says no you can take the bed out and put the old one back in

Yeah I've thought of that, I decided the best course of action would be to just buy it myself and at the end of the year offer to sell it to him. I'd be doing the same about my desk anyway so I could make him a special offer he can't refuse!0

Check your local papers for second hand ones, I saw loads for ~£60 when I was looking.0

i asked my not so nice landlord for a bed/mattress and got one! its worth asking them, as they will keep it for the next people after you leave.0

Right you said you wouldn't rule out bed frames so.........
Ikea do some rubbish beds, but the also do some decent ones.
Specifically the Noresund (I have this bed) it is solid metal and then you put their wood (thick) slats on it.
It is 200 cms long so should be long enough for you.
140 cms wide.

71 for the bed frame
59 for the mattress
15 total for two slat sets
So 145 all up.
I can't emphasise how sturdy this is, the pic in the ad doesn't do it justice. I sent the first bed I had back (an Asplelund - chipboard rubbish)
But this is solid as and you just slot the sides into the two ends. I put it together in less than 5 minutes. And I'm a girl.
Also because of it's construction it should look as good in a year as it does now. I think that would make it easier to sell than a divan.*Make every day Caturday*0 -

Only some unfortunately, but that doesn't include any of their mattresses. So if you do buy a bedstead from Ikea, then buy the continental size mattress from a British manufacturer........beds are one of the few things that we are still very good at making.0
