Mobile Broadband or PAYG dialup?

Options
I will be staying with my folks for about a month and they have no internet access. I can't live without it, everything is done online for me.

Would you recommend getting Mobile Broadband or PAYG dialup for when I am at their house? I am on Virgin PAYG mobile phone and they don't do the mobile internet yet....and they are on BT for their home phone.

I forgot about the fact that dialup uses the phoneline. I couldn't have my Mum's phone engaged for any length of time so it is going to have to be Mobile Broadband. Now I just have to find the right one, and hopefuly not get roped into a contract.

well i'm into my 1st 24hrs with 3 mobile paygo . The install was easy cost £50 fir the modem and a £10 topup which lasts for 30 days . If you buy through quidco its possable to bring the cost down. For me its to back up my home broband but it should give an idea of cost

Do you think the £10 top-up will be enough for a month? And you I also need to get a mobile and a phone contract with them in the first place before I can take out the mobile broadband with them?

no idea on the 1st question depend on what you use it for ( iplayer would kill the allawance for example)
the 2nd question is no go in to shop or web site come away with modem 3 do pay as you go , the minum top up is £10, 15 , 25 and will last for 30 days , they do do it on contract though

I use a 3 phone and a bluetooth dongle I attach to my PC. I have been using this since April. The bluetooth dongle only cost £4.99 and the internet monthly plan on the phone is £5 for everything. I must get about 3Gigs a month, have downloaded videos, lots of mp3s etc. Speed is 115.2kbs- which is bluetooth dial up. No problems at all except streaming video sometimes stutters a bit- for £5 a month though I can't complain.
I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

The phone has to be on constant re-charge, but it's worth it. Just get a cheap 3 pay as you go mobile and a bluetooth dongle.
