It's possiblly not really an appropriate remark to make :o Sorry, but as someone who was maliciously accused of bullying, I'm a bit sensitive to this :o I've never seen anyone on OS be vilified for their spelling.

No worries, though - enjoy your chutney :j

Thanks to all who posted green tomato chutney recipes, I have loads of tomatoes still on the plants and will wait for some to ripen but no doubt will also be left with loads of green ones. Will try to chutney them into submission!
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Keith Floyd's recipe is really good too, God rest him.

Whoever put the web page together evidently couldn't find any pictures of green tomatoes, because the one they have used is of red ones.

I made some last year and we only have a bit left, but I can confirm it keeps for ages and matures well. My OH loves it.

If you don't have any muslin you could use a spice ball, if you have one, or a coffee filter, or even a piece of strong kitchen towel, as advertised by the 2 "ladies", but not a "value" one or it might dissolve! Tie the top with kitchen string and leave enough string so you can wrap it round the pan handle so the spices don't sink without trace into the gloop.
