dont forget you have to cut out the barcode....i think you r getting carried away here, surely currys will refuse to accept something back as you have defaced the packaging.
  • not if its faulty ;)

but yes - I am getting carried away :)
  • Tried to order one tonight at 6.30......order seemed to go through ok but I'm still waiting for the confirmation email and the Currys site says something about security check in progress.
  • i didnt get the e mail confirmation for a while

I ordered one from Amazon on 22/11/05 for £560.55. <plus "Canon EOS Digital Rebel Field Guide" by Charlotte K. Lowrie for £10.49>

    Ordered a MyMemory 1GB 66X Compact Flash Card for £43.94 incl P&P. <and they put in a compact flash-sized chocolate with it:)>

Don't have an Egg card and the camera was out of stock at Currys. Total for camera kit = £560.55 - £100 Mastercard cashback = £460.55 - ½% Capital One cashback = £458.25. Not as good a bargain as some people have got but I'm still very happy with it, having got it quickly with no hassle and having read some v good reviews about the camera. Also going to send off for the free 256mb card.

I'd been wondering what digital camera to get to replace a Fuji one we'd left behind in a Greek monastery up a mountain <as you do ;)> and had wondered about DSLR, so very pleased I read this thread and thank you to the OP. :) Just need to get a bag now! <and to save up from some more lenses!>
  • Where is the best place to get a Compact Flash card and what is the best make to get?

I have heard a Sandisk Extreme III 1GB is the best to get for this camera but this card is a lot more expensive than other Hi-Speed compact flash cards I have seen.

    So any recommendations?

    Thanks

When I search for it, it doesn't show up anymore...Have they pulled it?

Also, Quidco offer 2% discount on Currys' purchases. Does that work with this offer?

The method I used was to click the currys link on the EGG home page. I then searched for EOS350d and it came back with the body only. I then selected more information on the body. Next I edited the url to change the SKU from 140537 (body only) to 605693 (EOS350d kit) and reloaded the page. I was then able to add the camera kit and bag to the basket and continue with the purchase.

    Total Price = £602.38
Next apply £40 discount code available on forum = £562.38
Purchase with EGG MOney CARD = 10% cashback = £506.14
    Cashback due later = £11.25
    Mastercard cashback = £100
TOTAL price for Camera Kit (+ bag) = £394.89

You then might be able to take the bag back to currys and get £22.49 refunded. (Not 100% sure if this is possible)

Total Price for Camera Kit = £372.40

    Good luck!

Does this include the lens as well???
