Getting PAC code from canclled contract

Hi,

I cancelled my contract with vodafone and when I did this I did not get a PAC code as I did not know, now I am with a new supplier and they say I need my PAC code to transfer my number, can this be done? some people are saying yes but others no, I have tried phoning vodafone but when I do get though I don't get a stright answer.

You can't get it if your account is closed now. I've worked for Three, T-Mobile and Orange and once the account is closed, they'd need to re-open it (at a lot of expense) issue it, then close it. There would be loads of billing problems so they're very reluctant to do this.
