Is this ISA ok for me?

Hi,
Just thought I would ask if this is a good idea as savings are not my strong point.

I have a First Direct ISA with £4,000 in it from a few years ago paying a poor 4.5%.

I want to transfer to a higher paying ISA and start saving again, hopefully £500 a month ( was thinking for 7 months in an ISA =£3,500 untill April, then rethink again)

The best deal I found that allows transfers in is the Alliance and Leicester at 6%.Is this ok?

Many thanks in advance.
On the internet you can be anything you want. It`s strange so many people choose to be rude and stupid.
