    morning all!!!

well after winning silverstone prize yesterday everything went 'to pot'!!! spent ages on phone telling everyone and was so excited i didn't get much done!!

however, i did manage to make lovely homemade curry (with slightly out of date pataks sauce!) this saved us getting take away! we also borrowed a film from a friend so sort of free curry and film evening:j

so now that i have calmed down todays plans are:
    - pay money into new A&L account - done
    - buy veg from market when in town - done - good thing about this is it is heavy so stops me from browsing in other shops:T
    - walk home - done
    - change bed and do washing - line dry
    - tidy kitchen
    - try and get some 50p bacon from morrisons as i volunteered to make everyone a fried breakfast tomorrow instead of going to cafe!!

i would like to mow the lawn but it has got to the point where it is going to be a major task so not looking forward to it! :o

by the way everyone julian graves in northampton seem to have a half price on EVERYTHING today:j :j . i did ask if this was just Northampton branch and how long the clearance was for but the saturday girl did not know:confused: . but she did confirm that they are not closing down just doing a stock rotation! i picked up 1kg of dates for £1.25 instead of £2.50 :j and they had yoghurt makers and all sorts in there too.... couldnt carry anything else with crash helmet and market veg though!!

hope everyone has a lovely bank holiday!!

    loki x

Check us out with our fancy prizes! maybe this is the lucky thread now! Have fun at Silverstone and don't forget to tell us all about it when it happens!

Getting ready for my cheap london trip yay! Got my cheap rooms, my cheap train fare, my half price railcard, my clubcard vouchers for pizza hut, worked out freebie days out, borrowing a huge backpack rather than buying one - cant wait!!!!! Lots to do before I go to bed tonight, so if you see me sat here, tell me off!

    Today I will:
Check banking - sort out payments a day and transfer some money about.
Do some washing on 30 quick and get on line pronto.
Find cheap pac-a-macs in town hahahahaha already looked and found none but got to be worth another try!
Make sure I have picnic stuff for train tomorrow.
Weigh out cereals for me for trip.
    Think thats me lot :)

Well done you Cleosmum, i want to come with you now. Was planning to do something similair myself, my friends thought it would be too expensive and thought there would be a catch to the free stuff. It's amazing how people who aren't in to money saving always feel there is a catch to something cheap or free, certainly the people i know do anyway:confused:

Ooh if this is the lucky thread, does that mean i might finally start winning some competitions:rotfl:

Hope you feel bettter soon CAFC girl

I know what you mean! My dad doesnt have any debts and money isnt really an issue and he is very dubious about any 'tips' I give him! He wont touch quidco with a bargepole, says there has to be a catch, wont use vouchers in case he gets refused, even with something like the warwick adult free entry, he would rather pay full admission

I am so pleased with the amount the trip has cost:
    Travelodge £48 for 2 nights
Train for 5 (family railcard) £32
    Railcard £12
£40 worth of Tesco pizza hut vouchers
    Free museum trips
And I have saved £175 for spends, but I just cant see how we will get through that?! We are getting snacky stuff for breakfast in the room, lunch will be sarnies prepared in the room and we have planned pizza hut 1 night, so will just have to buy drinks and the 2nd night we are going out to eat, but from previous experience it will come to less than £35.

Cleosmum, have you got anything sorted for that one? toptable.co.uk has LOADS of London deals, some with 50% off, you can select by area and "special offers"... let me know if you need a hand with areas ;) unless it's way up north london, cos i don't know jack about up there
  • have a great time cleosmum.
Today i have brought a gadget to go on end of hose pipe, so no more paying windowcleaner...bye bye.
Have 'cooked' some vinegar in oven for a hour (whole house stinks) and cleaned oven with hot water and washing up liquid in 15 minutes . how shiny is that, it will be a shame to cook in it now. (must open windows)
Been to B&Q and brought wallpaper for hallway it was £19.99 a roll last week now £5.99, needed13 rolls so saved loads. am very pleased with self.
Have put Premium Bond cheque into Isa and claimed bank charges this week.
See you all next week kepp up the good work, bye.
Its not how far you fall but how high you bounce back that matters
