Saturday 23/08/08 What small dfw things have you done today???

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Today I will:
  • update spreadsheets
  • check online banking
  • do clicks
  • Make a loaf in breadmaker
  • Storecupboard meals
  • Swim and jacuzzi to use gym membership if i have time
  • Have a quick potter in veg garden and greenhouse, not been down there much this week
  • Share car to hospital to save on petrol and car parking charges
Hi everyone,
We have sunshine !!!!:j :j :j , it's so lovely to wake up and it to be sunny, had got so used to the rain  .Got lots of stuff to do today so need to get stuck in. Have a great weekend everyone.
Catch up with you all later:D

  • Hi everyone

Today I will do my online banking, pigsback clicks and loads of home baking.

Have been craving flapjacks, last week I bought loads of gluten and wheat free flour and ingredients and the nice thing is the flour bags have loads of lovely recipes for bread and snacks which I'll be trying out this weekend, so loads of baking and no spending money lol.

And will be going to the gym of course, just a 15 minute walk from here so getting exercise walking there too lol.

Have a great long weekend everyone!

    Cheers

Hi everyone not been on here for a while had my mind on other things. Just about got myself togther again so here's to a fresh start.
Nice n sunny here today so will make the most and do all my washing and drying. Just hope it lasts for a bit longer than a day this time

    This wk i have
    • dug out fleecy blankets and extra bedding rather than buy new
    • done my daily clicks and piggy points
    • done my surveys
    • lined my little boys curtains with old duvet cover instead of buying lining (window is huge so would of cost a fair bit)
    • dug out old xmas cards to re use as gift tags and to make a few HM cards
    • Bought some more xmas cards at local shop closing down. Managed to get 4 boxes each containing 21cards for a whopping 80p for the lot BARGAIN!
    • managed to cap my utilities at cheapish rate (only a few quid more a month than what were paying now so not too bad)
    Still to do
    • make a batch of HM soup to freeze
    • prepare shopping list for next month. Only have £80 for me OH and little one so need to wrack my brain and try to put together some sort of meal plan
    • wash windows if it stays nice
    • sort my tesco clubcard vouchers (using them for mags subs for xmas pressies)

Morning all, hope everyone is having a great start to the bank holiday weekend. Lovely to see the sun for a change!

Had a nice lie in this morning, courteosy of my lovely boyfriend, who informed me i needed to take it easy!

Today, i will be focusing on quality rather than quantity as really want to focus on getting the business side of things done

    Things i will/have done today:
-Have put money in payment a day challenge
-Have put away pots and washed next lot, whilst we have some hot water
-Have entered all comps ending today
    -Have looked for mystery shops
and will continue to do so through out the day
-Have updated spreadsheet for £10 a day challenge
-Have checked score of matched bet

-Will look out for another matched bet
    -Will check online banking
    -will do daily clicks
    -Need to sort through emails

    -Do any surveys i receive
    -Do some slice the pie
    -Make meals from store cupboard
    -Will update challenges
-Will finally finish working through business advice on other website, there have been fifty six pages to work through, with around twenty threads on each page, so have worked through a lot and have gained so much more knowledge as a result
-Will spend some quality time on my webiste, as its really taking form now!
-Look on internet for some of the books i saw last night in the book store and wanted to get, need to buy these ones as i know that these are the type of counselling books i will constantly refer back to. - Have ordered one and the other one will have to wait for now
-Look on freecycle for my mircrowave!!
-Continue reading through business info i have printed off
    -Fill in counselling journal
    -Read some of counselling books
-Write up audit from last night and email to person
-Email all people who bought ebay items off me to let them know their coming!

Hope everyone has a great day and a productive one at that!

  • morning all!!!

well after winning silverstone prize yesterday everything went 'to pot'!!! spent ages on phone telling everyone and was so excited i didn't get much done!!

however, i did manage to make lovely homemade curry (with slightly out of date pataks sauce!) this saved us getting take away! we also borrowed a film from a friend so sort of free curry and film evening:j

so now that i have calmed down todays plans are:
    - pay money into new A&L account - done
    - buy veg from market when in town - done - good thing about this is it is heavy so stops me from browsing in other shops:T
    - walk home - done
    - change bed and do washing - line dry
    - tidy kitchen
    - try and get some 50p bacon from morrisons as i volunteered to make everyone a fried breakfast tomorrow instead of going to cafe!!

i would like to mow the lawn but it has got to the point where it is going to be a major task so not looking forward to it! :o

by the way everyone julian graves in northampton seem to have a half price on EVERYTHING today:j :j . i did ask if this was just Northampton branch and how long the clearance was for but the saturday girl did not know:confused: . but she did confirm that they are not closing down just doing a stock rotation! i picked up 1kg of dates for £1.25 instead of £2.50 :j and they had yoghurt makers and all sorts in there too.... couldnt carry anything else with crash helmet and market veg though!!

hope everyone has a lovely bank holiday!!

    loki x
it's nice to be important but more important to be nice!! :kisses3:
