I am glad to report that the seller emailed me a few minutes ago and thanked me for the payment. He also stated that he will post the camera out on Tuesday...

looking forward to receiving it now..

AFAIK, that's not strictly true, in that purchases made on eBay with a CC are covered (if they're over £100, as aerostar says). However, purchases on eBay using PP funded by a CC are, technically, not covered as you are not using the card directly to pay the seller (which is almost certainly what Barclaycard said).

Apparently though many/most CC companies are willing to dispute with PayPal.
