virgin Media / Sky - 3 questions - I don't want to mess up

Options
Hi All,

I have a package with virgin media for phone, broadband, 2 x tv boxes with large tv bundle (i think), and now that I've been on it for a year at £39.50 per month, they have suddenly upped my charges to over £60 per month.

I phoned up to ask why, and to ask them to lower their charges, but the guy said no way. I have now found a good package with sky - including variety mix, music, news, knowledge, kids & sky movies 1. I would get multiroom with 2 boxes (one which can record etc), and 8meg broadband, + phone for £49 per month. I would obviously have to pay BT line as well +/- £10.00

Ideally, I just want Virgin Media to lower my bill again, and maybe add on something (i.e. movie channels, or disney channels or maybe upgrade one of my boxes etc). I've been with them for over 4 years now, and don't really want to change my email.

1) My main question is; if VM don't come down in price, and I'm forced to switch, will I completely lose my @blueyonder.co.uk email? or is it possible to somehow redirect the email?

2) What is the best way to go about getting VM to improve my package and lower my bill?

3) There was a BT line in this house when I moved in last year, but as I was a Telewest / VM customer, I had VM installed. Will I have to pay a reconnection fee to BT? I'm in London. As far as I know the line was never 'disconnected' in a physical way - just has been inactive since last people moved out and I moved in.

Thanks to all

Your BY account will die at some point once you stop paying as it should close when your VM closes (doesn't always happen though).
Ask for cancellations, if you were on an offer and it's expired then to be honest you have already saved a lot against the proper package cost and unless you get someone who is down on their "saved" count for the week you may not get anywhere but you never know.
Yep the line will need to be reconnected, the line will no longer be connected at the exchange end so BT Openreach will need to go in and plug it back in. You may be able to swing it with Sky to refund the reconn fee if you take Sky talk with your package though.
Before you jump ship though are you sure you can get Sky ADSL on your line and do you know what speeds you may get in a perfect world? If not put your details in here and it will tell you what you can expect if your line is in a good condition:
