i normally dont get involved but i have to say southern softie probably didnt mean it like that, and of all the people that have entered this comp are all of them diabetic too???, my nan was diabetic and i used to watch her inject herself and i imagine having to do that to your own children most be heart breaking but this is a competition board and we all enter competitions if the t&c say that we are allowed, and while i look at some comps and i dont do them because i am not getting married or expecting or whatever, i do enter others including this one, even though i am not diabetic (didnt put that i was), so i just wanted to say that i am sure what was said was said in light hearted way and not a vindictive way.0

The last 3 posts weren't there when I started to post this!
I was going to ask the question anyway, but thought that I would check the site first, however you seem to need to register to progress, so.....
Do you need to be (or say that you are) diabetic in order to enter?
I am quite happy not to lie and not enter, but obviously I would like to enter if it is possible.0 -

Too true! I look after people with diabetes and also the terminally ill.... hence I could check the box that said health professional. But I still had to answer the question about what meter I used to enter, and no I didn't request the travel pack as all my patients are too ill to travel.
Keeping a sense of humour in these situations helps a great deal.0 -
so i have no sense of humour just cause i say something about people faking diabetes? :rotfl: get a life
have contacted accu-check as im sure they'd love to know people are faking details and to clarify if its ok for everyone to enter etc
i wont post on this thread again.0 -
I haven't entered either, my late bil had diabetes.
My sister now helps raise money for the local diabetic society.
I just think there's a time and a place to stretch the truth.
I leave comps like these for the people they are aimed at.
Having had the big 'C' I have a very healthy respect for anyone with an illness.£2021 in 2021 no.17 £1,093.20/£20210 -
Could I just point out the runners up prize.
7. There is one (1) first prize to be won. This prize entitles the winner to £5,000 of holiday Thomas Cook vouchers (see prize details
below). In addition, there are two hundred (200) runners up prizes of FRIO® Insulin Wallets to be won.
What good are they to anyone other then a diabetic!£2021 in 2021 no.17 £1,093.20/£20210 -

i really think this is a genuinely happy board and it always makes me happy when i see others winning and the prizes they have won and even though deep down i wish i could win some of those prizes but it still cheers me to see that others are winning, ur name i see a lot on this board so i have probably said thanks to you loads of times for comps you have posted so i know that if you dont visit this board again you will be missed and i understand your point and why you are upset but i also see it from a compers point, and i understand you are probably having a really bad day and i send huge hugs to you and hope your day tomorrow will be a lot better and i hope i can say thanks to you again0 -
