    Cbeebies on the radio

My son loves it 2pm on Radio7 - 3 hours of stuff. He likes the fact he can play and listen without having to watch it all the time.

  • If you're willing to travel they had some at Tamworth, Staffs (Which is where I got mine) they seemed to have some stock of them there :)

if you are anywhere near Derby they had them in stock i reserved 2 and only bought one, my son wasnt interesed in the other one, it was reserved till end of today so may go back into stock tomorrow if thats any help

Having been unable to reserve one anywhere near to Derby on Sunday afternoon & evening (nearest was Lincoln) I decided to try in-store personally, given the Comet message actually says something like

"Store may actually have some in stock but levels may be low and this is a high demand item which means we cannot reserve one for you"

Anyway turned out they had 4 of them in stock at noon yesterday (Monday)

They only had 2 after I left !!!!

I "complained" about the reserve & collect saying I couldn't because they hadn't got any and that I would have used a code for 10% off making them just £17.99.

Salesman called someone and I got them for £17.99

I tried practically everywhere too Twickenham, Croyden, Brenford and about another 6 places in and around the London area. I even tried to see if around where my parents live might have reserve & collect but you guessed it they didn't and they live not far from Chester.

I might try Twickenham directly tomorrow and see if I can waggle one as quoia has mentioned if there's any left. I'd like to try and get one for my Mum too as she's been after a radio like this for ages. And even if I can get one £19.99 then so be it as it's better than having to pay £39. Anyway, fingers crossed!

Thank you for naming some of the places where Comet does not have the Roberts' radio. This is really helpful so that I don't go to a store that is out of stock of this. Please could everyone copy, and name their stores.

In the meantime go to their store locater and enter your postcode for the nearest store.

It might be best to phone first to see if they have any in. Numbers for your area can be found on SayNoTo0870.com.

    .........

But this was all but pointless anyway.

The 10 to 12 nearest stores to me wouldn't let me reserve one (the option button was greyed out) stating low or no stock. Nearest where I could reserve was about 65 miles away (Lincoln) which had been mentioned as having stock in an earlier post.

I then actually WENT to my very nearest (3 miles) and they had 4 in stock.

Whilst they were looking for them (took a while - seemingly lost or supposedly stolen - served by young lad who hadn't really got a clue - once manager got involved all 4 found in 2 minutes) I asked for them to check THEIR system for stock levels & availability at other stores.

Several of the 10 to 12 that were "unavailable to me" DID NOT HAVE ZERO STOCK according to Comet's internal computer system.

Personally I'd go to (or phone if TOO FAR) your nearest store and GET THEM to tell you where some are in stock. Then all you've got to decide is if it is worth collecting it/them

I reckon they have realised that this a massive seller, so are trying to cash in by making people pay for delivery if they can't be bothered to check out their nearest store.
Hoping this year is better than the last. :)
