Do you use a USB cable? It wasn't provided in the package so I assume I need to get one, but is it a different USB cable than you normally use for printers etc?

its a USB mini b i think. for example some digital cameras have the same type of cable that you could use as well as ps3 controller charge cables (& psp data cables), some memory card readers and some mp3 players0

yep use a mini usb cable. looks like this:

or if you have a memory card reader on your pc you could get a card for your phone and do it that way0
