Just re installed my Epson Stylus DX4000 printer onto my computer (XP) but it wont print black ink. It shows that the ink cartridge is full in properties but wont print the black, I am very confused as to why it's doing it
Anyone any ideas - thanks in advance

Have you tried "head cleaning"
Under Preferences then maintenance I thinkWhen an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray0 -
Yes, I have done that and nozzle checks etc****************************0

Which driver are you using? Is it from the supplied CD? It might be worth going to Epson's website and downloading the latest driver and trying that to see if it makes any difference. I don't know if this can happen or not but it could be a recent Windows update has meant your current driver doesn't work properly or there's some sort of conflict maybe?Total debt as at Jul 2012: Too much!0

Could be the printhead has dried up, not sure you can take it out to clean it, on Canons you just lift a lever and they pop out and you run under a warm tap to ckear any blockage, thats what i do with mine from time to time and it sorts out the problem0

I installed it from the epson website, not the cd and it doesnt look like I can take the print head out to clean. It's printing the others colours fine, just no black ink.
Anyone ??****************************0 -
try a new black ink cart, or cleaning the head somehow0

Have done that, still no black ink****************************0

Probably a blocked head i would try a cleaning cart to clear it if it dosent come out0
-
When you say a blocked head, do you mean taking the ink cartridge out and cleaning the actual bit where the ink comes out ??****************************0

Try this
