O2/iPhone
Help! O2 don't seem to have a clue what is going on and I'm getting peed off now.
I upgraded to the iPhone on Sunday and everything worked fine until Wednesday morning, where I've had "no service" displaying in the top left hand corner instead of "o2".
I rang o2 first thing and was told this was due to there being maintenance work in my area and I should have service the following day. I didn't believe this as I tried ringing my phone from another handset and it said "number not recognised", however, I decided to take the advice.
The following day, as expected, I had "no service", so I phoned o2 and was told to put my sim in my old handset to see if it worked. I did this and it said "inactive sim", so I phoned them back and was told they would send out another sim card, which arrived today.
I have now activated this through C/S and was told it can take up to 24 hours although it's normally sooner. It's now 2 hours since I did this and it's still not activated. I know I should be more patient but I have the feeling it's still not going to work as O2's advice has been useless so far.
Does anyone have any knowledge about what might be causing this?
Thanks

You upgraded.... did you put your old SIM in your new iPhone?
When you upgraded, they sent you a new handset with new SIM (it's in there somewhere). They then port your account over from the old to the new (which can take three days). This de-registers the old SIM (hence it appears "Unregistered").
The new SIM they are sending should therefore now have your account attached to it, such that when you put it into your phone and it activates it will have the right number. Obviously, for security they will not activate it until you have received it and the SIM activation can take 24 hours, so give them until tomorrow morning (it will appear unregistered until then).
And before you ring them, do restart the phone. Some times it requires a re-connection to the network to trigger the update.*I reserve the right to have an opinion, the right to change this opinion and the right to be wrong.*Hope that helps. No, when I went into the store they gave me the box with the phone, but there's definitely no sim card in it. I was told to transfer my old sim and this did work, for 2 days.0
